There are 40 ayat in this Meccan surah. It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at Mecca before he moved to Medina because it is a Makki Surah Naba. The Day of Judgment and the rewards and punishments that will be meted out on that day are the Surah Naba principal themes. It also includes cautions against the negative effects of human carelessness and disobedience.
